He's so cheezy

Meanwhile, winter has arrived in earnest, replete with bitter temperatures and snowbanks I need to crane my neck to see over. I have touched on a number of Harry's obsessions over the past - his love of movie trailers, bridges, and now...

its cheese.

No really. I mean cheese...of many varieties. And like his obsession with bridges he feels the need to draw and google the many varieties of cheese...cheddar, mozzarella, oka, Roquefort, brie, Limberger, swiss, gouda...And I even found the likes of Casu Marzu. I thought he would like that one too. And then he talks of the pungency factor and now knows that Oka smells worse than mozzarella and Limberger worse that Oka. I am grateful that I know not the pungency quotient of Casu Marzu...which is described as passing the stage of fermentation into decomposition. If I find myself in Sardinia, I would hope that my grilled cheeses are absent of Casu Marzu.

And then I inquired about taste testing...to which he replied

"Ewwww...Cheese stinks". And answer I imagined any Entomologist retorting had I asked if they ate their specimens.

So, all around the house, there are little diagrams..."this is brie"...with a little round lump with a wedge out of it...and "this is swiss" (I don't this I need to go any farther with a description of his diagram).

I once thought, maybe his obesession with trailers will lead him to film making, or acting or even script writing...and then when his love of bridges came so did thoughts of engineering. A future cheesemaker?

Maybe he'll be the sort to end up with a collection of Hummel figurines...

Not be getting these last posts over the pond here. Also, the page has gone plain, which is fine by me! I can't imagine how much snow you might be getting. Anyway, I'm eating cheese on toast (cheddar), so the kid's on the right track as far as I'm concerned. Hotboy

I tend to get obsessed with certain subjects for a while too - I have hopes that it somehow helps my writing - though the jury is still out on that one.

Maybe he'll turn out to be a writer - they tend to have lots of otherwise unrelated interests.
